Liftroller can prevent a lot of bad backs and unnecessary hourly rentals of crane lorries. This is a super-smart solution for getting materials inside a building… and it’s Norwegian!

Down on the street stands a truck; it’s got a cargo of pallets and equipment. These need to be delivered into a building undergoing rehabilitation work, onto a specific floor upstairs. This is a daily challenge for many professionals in the construction industry.

Carry or crane?

Solutions vary. Some choose to move the pallets onto the ground, then they get everyone to carry the items – panels, boxes of tiles, bags of mortar, timber and so on – individually. There’s so much running up and down stairs, it’s like something from firefighter academy.

Some opt to get the pallets lifted up to a window by crane, unloading the goods as the pallet hangs in straps by pulling them in through the window.

This option is usually the quickest, but there are some issues – a truck that stands waiting is not exactly free, while having pallets dangling outside a window brings its own safety challenges…

On larger projects, perhaps you have the time and the money to rig-up a full-size landing platform; then you can take in all the pallets or goods in through a similarly sized hole in the wall. But then you’ve got to seal that hole, of course.

There the pallet can stand safely as it is unloaded. If more loads need to come in, you can clear the way by rolling the pallet straight onto the Liftwagon, a complementary wagon with a scissor-system lifting mechanism.

Easier site logistics

I only recently became aware of the Liftroller. It is one of the smartest site-logistic solutions I have seen in all my years in the construction industry. Via a relatively easy mechanism, you rig up what is essentially a platform with rollers.

It protrudes about a meter from the outside of the windowframe, long enough that a crane can set a pallet onto the rollers, enabling the goods to be pulled into the room through a normal window opening.
