The new University Hospital of Northern Norway (UNN) will replace the old hospital located at “Sykehushaugen” in Narvik and bring several services under one roof. The new UNN will offer physical and mental health services as well as interdisciplinary specialized addiction treatment. The new UNN is being built in Furumoen between Narvik and Hålogalandsbrua. The construction started in 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2024.
As part of the logistics solution for material handling on this construction project, contractor HENT chose to rent the Liftroller system. HENT is well aware of Liftroller products and has previously used the rolling system in the renovation project “Villa Copenhagen” in Denmark. The venereable post office building in Copenhagen was rebuilt into a luxury hotel. You can read more about the renovation project “Villa Copenhagen” here.

Video: Smart and Efficient Solution to Close the Opening in the Façade Between Every Material Delivery
“New UNN Narvik” is being built in Narvik, which is located far north in Norway. In winter, it becomes extremely cold here and it is therefore necessary to keep the window openings closed between each material delivery. HENT has several Liftroller systems on the façade and will use them over a long period, therefore this closing method is simply brilliant. The employees of HENT AS have been truly creative and put in extra time and effort to create a system that can work temporarily permanently throughout the construction period. In addition, they have also incorporated an extra beneficial detail on several of the window panels; plexiglass plates that allow valuable daylight to reach the workers.
